Gender Equality and Inclusion in Venice

I had the privilege of spending a truly special Saturday in Venice, invited by Kid Pass and The Human Safety Net, to lead a workshop dedicated to gender equality that involved both adults and children.

While weekends are normally intense with managing my four children, this was a unique occasion for professional sharing immersed in the timeless beauty of Venice, among gondolas and masks, in an atmosphere that truly seemed like a movie set!

The workshop I conducted started with viewing a short film, used as a starting point to initiate a collective reflection on fundamental themes such as stereotypes, gender discrimination, and different life experiences. It was a moment of great enrichment, facilitated by the professionalism and participation of Giselle Magali Mennitto, whom I thank for her contribution.

But the true protagonists of the event were undoubtedly the children, who proved, once again, to be the best teachers in terms of inclusivity and acceptance of diversity. Their spontaneity and open-mindedness offered all of us adults a valuable lesson on how we should approach these topics.

I am particularly proud that La Luna del Grano – Benefit Corporation, of which I am Co-Founder, also deals with this type of educational initiative. We firmly believe that cultural change towards true gender equality must begin with educating new generations, in a context that values differences as wealth rather than as a reason for division.
